Drospirenone and Ethinyl estradiol is a birth control pill that contains female hormones that inhibit ovulation (the release of an egg from an ovary). Changes in your cervical mucus and uterine lining are also caused by drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol, making it more difficult for sperm to reach the uterus and a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus.
To prevent pregnancy, drospirenone, and ethinyl estradiol are used as contraception. This medication is also used to treat moderate acne in women over the age of 14 who have started menstruating and want to use birth control pills.
Novelon Lite is also used to treat PMDD symptoms such as anxiety, depression, irritability, difficulty concentrating, lack of energy, sleep or appetite changes, breast tenderness, joint or muscle pain, headache, and weight gain.
Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Novelon Lite. Please consult your doctor.
Novelon Lite is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Novelon Lite is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. Nonhormonal and progestin-only contraceptives are preferred in breastfeeding women, especially during the first 4 weeks postpartum
Novelon Lite does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Novelon Lite is probably unsafe to use in patients with kidney disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
Novelon Lite is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
Novelon Lite (Ethinyl Estradiol+Drospirenone) is used for contraception. It may also be used in the treatment of irregular periods.
Ethinylestradiol and Drospirenone are the two ingredients that make this product active. Drospirenone is a synthetic form of progesterone, and ethinylestradiol is a synthetic form of estrogen. The hormonal components of this medication prevent ovulation by reducing the release of gonadotropin. Changes in the cervical mucus (which makes it harder for sperm to penetrate) and changes to the endometrium are examples of secondary mechanisms that could boost the effectiveness of this pill as a contraceptive (which reduces the likelihood of implantation).
The anti-mineralocorticoid activity of drospirenone prevents sodium retention brought on by estrogen. Drospirenone exhibits a positive lipid profile with an increase in high-density lipoprotein HDL when combined with ethinyloestradiol. Drospirenone has antiandrogenic effects and does not interfere with the rise in sex hormone-binding globulin caused by ethinyloestradiol, which is necessary for binding and inactivating endogenous androgens.

Novelon Lite is a combined oral contraceptive pill. It works by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) and affecting sperm movement in the womb to prevent its union with the egg. It also changes the lining of the womb and renders it unsuitable for pregnancy.
Follow the patient instructions provided with your medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you do not understand these instructions. Missing a pill increases your risk of becoming pregnant.
Either a decrease or an increase in ethinylestradiol concentrations can result from ethinylestradiol and other drugs interacting. It's possible that lower ethinylestradiol serum concentrations will have a negative impact on the effectiveness of the oral contraceptive by increasing the likelihood of breakthrough bleeding and menstrual irregularities. Rifampicin, phenytoin, primidone, rifabutin, dexamethasone, griseofulvin, topiramate, some protease inhibitors, modafinil, ritonavir, and barbiturates are a few examples of substances that may lower serum ethinylestradiol concentrations. Ampicillin, other penicillins, and tetracyclines are among the antibiotics that may lessen the effectiveness of oral contraceptives. In addition to taking this tablet on a regular basis, it is advised to use a nonhormonal backup method of contraception when taking it concurrently with other medications that may cause decreased ethinylestradiol serum concentrations.
It is not advised to use this tablet:
